Lakshadweep Beaches
Lakshdweep is a group of coral islands, off the coast of
Kerala, in the
Arabian Sea. The island with its turquoise waters is the only real coral
islands in India. The white coral beaches with its natural beauty is
considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The coral
reefs, blue lagoons, silvery sands and the palm groves have enhanced the
beauty of Lakshdweep beaches.The fantastic beaches of Lakshdweep offer an
amazing variety of water sports such as scuba diving, snorkeling, deep sea
fishing, kayaking and yachting etc. The toursits can enjoy sunbathing or
sailing on glass-bottemed boats to watch the exotic coral and marine life
in the island. Lakshadweep has 36 island, out of which only 10 are
inhabited and five are open to tourists.

Kadmat Beach
Kadmat
Island, 8 Kms long and only 550 metres wide at its widest point, is famous
for its beautiful beaches. The extensive sandy beach strectches to the
south of the island are ideal for sunbathing. The beach huts provide a
cool place to relax and watch the natural beauty of the lagoon. The
adventure enthusiasts can go out on kayaking trips, water skiing, sailing
or riding on pedal boats. Kadmat Beach is one of the best scuba diving
locations in India. While diving off Kadmat beach one can see many
tropical fishes, sharks and rays.
Kavaratti Beach
Kavaratti the administrative headquarters of Lakshdweep is most developed
island. The lovely beach is ideal for sunbathing and relaxing. In the
pictresque and serene beach the tourists can enjoy water sports, kayaking,
sailing, windsurfing swimming and snorkeling. One can also see the exotic
marine life through glass-bottemed boats. Major attractions are the marine
aquarium and Dolphin dive centre.
Kalpeni Beach
Kalpeni known for its scenic beauty, forms a single coral atoll along
with Cheriyam, Pitti and Tilakkam. The uninhabited island has a huge coral
debris along its south & east shoreline. It is believed that this
interesting sight was created after a storm in 1847. In Kalpeni Beach the
tourists can enjoy snorkeling, swimming, paddling and also kayaking, pedal
boating and sailing.
Minicoy Beach
Minicoy is the southernmost island in Lakshdweep, the crescent shaped
island has one of largest lagoons. Minicoy Beach offers the facilities
including bathing huts, changing rooms and water sports activities. Other
attractions of the Minicoy beach are a 300 feet high lighthouse, the Lava
dance and colourful race boats called Jahadhoni.'

Bangaram Beach
The
uninhibited Bangaral Island, is only one open to foreign tourists.
The teardrop-shaped island has beautiful beaches. The coral formation
attracts a wide array of tropical fish-angel, clown, butterfly, surgeon,
sweetlip, snappers and groupers. The beach has manta and sting rays,
sharks and green and hawkbill turtles. The toursists can enjoy
windsurfing, scuba diving, parasailing, water skiing and snorkeling.
Agatti Beach
The prestine Agatti beach is perfect for beach holiday. Agatti Island is
the only island in Lakshadweep, which has the airport.
