Kothi : Kothi is situated 12 Kms
away from Manali, at the foot of the Rohtang pass. The quiet beautiful
spot offers the spectacular view of the snow-capped peaks and
glaciers.
Manu Temple : The temple is dedicated to sage Manu,
the creator of human race on the earth. It is believed to be the only
temple of Manu in India. It is also believed that Manu meditated here.
Vashist Springs and Temple : The small village just
3 Kms from Manali is located at an altitude of 1,982 metres. Sprawling
across the Beas river, Vashist has natural sulphur springs. The hot
water springs emerging out of the mountains has medicinal value.
Modern bathhouses, with Turkish-style showers have been built for the
convenience of tourists. Vashist houses the pyramidal stone temple
dedicated to sage Vashisth and a Lord Rama temple.
Monasteries : Manali is famous for its shiny Gompas
or Buddhist monasteries.
Rahala waterfalls : The beautiful waterfalls are
located at a distance of 16 Kms from Manali.

The 2,501 metre high waterfalls lies at the start of
the climb to the Rohtang Pass.
Rohtang Pass : The 3979 metre high Rohtang Pass is
the highest point on the Manali-Keylong road.
The place provides the breathtaking views of the mountain rising far
above clouds.
Solang Valley : Situated at a distance of 14 Kms
from Manali, Solang valley offers the magnificent view of the glaciers
and snow-capped mountains. Solang valley has fine ski slopes, the
Mountaineering Institute has installed a ski lift for training
purpose.
How to reach there
By Air : Bhuntar airport at a distance of 52 km
from Manali is the nearest airport. There are flights to Bhuntar from
Delhi via Shimla.
By Rail : Nearest railhead is Jogindernagar (135
Kms) which has the narrow-gauge line. The closest broad gauge
railheads are Chandigarh (310 Kms) and Ambala (355 Kms).
By Road : Manali is well connected by good network
of roads with towns and cities like Kullu, Shimla, Dalhousie, Ambala,
Mandi, Chandigarh and Delhi.
