Kerala, the state known for its natural beauty, is located
on the southwestern coast of Indian peninsula. Situated in between the
high western ghats in the east and the vast Arabian sea in the west,
Kerala shares boundaries with the states of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The
sun-kissed beaches, varied wildlife sanctuaries, dense forest cover,
tranquil backwaters, verdant valleys, houseboat cruises, breathtaking
scenery and splendid architecture, of course make Kerala the "God's
own country." The state is known for its rich art and culture, in

Kerala has become worldwide famous for its interesting 'Kathakali' a
masked dance-drama, in addition other popular art forms are Koodiyattam,
Krishnanattam, Kalaripayattu. Koothu, Mohiniyattam and Ottamthullal.

handloom, handicrafts, metal mirror and fiber products.
People of Kerala
Kerala's culture is originally Dravidian in origin, later it was
elaborated with the influence of other cultures. The People of Kerala has
considerable ethnic diversity, the Malayali majority belong to the
Dravidian group, in addition there is a small population of descendants of
Indo-European migrants from the north. Some of the tribal communities
living in the hills have the connection with the Negrito people of South
Asia.
Festivals of Kerala
Kerala a unique land for vacations, remains spiritually alive with its
several fairs, festivals and celebrations. The population of the state is
an amazing blend of three main religions - Hindus, Christians and Muslims.
Communal Harmony and religious toleration are important part of Kerala's
