Day 01 : Delhi
Morning arrival at Delhi. Day at leisure. Evening tour of Delhi- Visit
India Gate, The Presidential Palace, and explore the bazaars of Old Delhi.
Board the night train to Haridwar. Overnight in train.
Day 02 : Haridwar-Gangotri
Drive to the shrine of Gangorti(3042 m), located amidst captivating
surroundings. Visit the Temple and 'Ashram' in the evening. Overnight in
tents/rest house.
Day 03 : Gangotri - Gaumukh (17Kms)
Trek to the source of the River Ganga- The Gangotri Glacier at 'Gaumukh'
(Cow's Mouth) at 3892 m. Overnight in tents near the glacier.
Day 04 : Gaumukh to Gangnani
Trek back to Gangotri, and thereon drive to Gangnani (1856 m)- noted for
its 'Hot Water Springs' and its peaceful and tranquilizing environment.
Overnight in tents.
Day 05 : Gangnani to Agoda
Drive to the roadhead at Kalyani village (1829 m). A 5 Kms trek brings
you to the small hamlet of Agora (2286 m) in the middle of the forest.
Overnight in tents/forest rest house.
Day 06 : Agora-Dodital (15Kms)
An uphill trek through beautiful landscape of thick forests and steep
cliffs brings you to the mysterious Dodital Lake (3307 m) - surrounded by
dense forests, it is an ideal place for the nature lover. Overnight in
rest house/tents.
Day 07 : Dodital
Day at leisure. The crystal clear lake and the surrounding dense forests
create an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Explore the surrounding
areas. Campfire dinner at night. Overnight in rest house/tents.
Day 08 : Dodital-Camp
Begin the trek ascending the Darwa Dhar Ridge (4115 m) - the watershed of
the Ganga and Yamuna River Valleys. Descend towards the Yamuna Valley. Set
up camp for the night in the forest. Overnight in tents.
Day 09 : Camp-JankiChatt
. Trek to Janki Chatti(2575 m), located on the banks of River Yamuna.
Take a refreshing bath in the natural 'Hot Water Springs'. Overnight in
tents.
Day 10 : JankiChatti-Yamnotri
Trek to Yamnotri(3235 m) - one of the four holy 'Dhams' of the Hindus. The
source of River Yamuna is 1 Km ahead at 4421metres. Overnight in tents.
Day 11 : Yamnotri-Rishikesh
Trek down 13 Kms to Hanuman Chatti(2400m), thereon drive to the 'Queen of
the Hills'-Mussoorie where you halt for a late lunch.. En-route visit the
historical sites at Lakhamandal, associated with the heroes of the
greatest Indian epic - The Mahabharat. In the evening. proceed to the holy
town of Rishikesh. Campfire dinner on the banks of the River Ganga.
Overnight in tents at a Rafting Camp.
Day 12 : Rishikesh - Chila
Begin the morning with thrills of River Rafting on the white waters of
the Ganges. Raft down to Rishikesh. After lunch, proceed to Chila- a part
of the Rajaji National Park, known for its wild Elephants, Tigers,
Leopards and Boars. Overnight in tents/rest house.
Day 13 : Chila-Haridwar-Delhi
Take a Jeep safari in the morning through the forests in search of
wildlife. By lunchtime proceed to Haridwar - one of the most sacred towns
of the Hindus. Explore the city at leisure, visit 'Ashrams' and Temples
along the holy 'Ghats'. Catch the train to Delhi after witnessing the
'Arti' (a religious ceremony) performed after sunset on the banks of the
River Ganga. Overnight in train.
Day 14 : Delhi
Early morning arrival at Delhi. Day tour of Delhi- visit the historical
monuments which give you an insight to the glorious past of India. Evening
at leisure. Farewell dinner. Airport transfer.
