attractions are :
Umaid Bhawan Palace
One of the recent palaces of India, was built in a span of 15 years
between 1929 to 1943. It was built under the supervision of Maharaja
Umaid Singh, the president of the British Royal Institute of
Architects. The Maharaja of Jodhpur built the palace under the famine
relief project to provide employment to the famine struck people.
Umaid Bhawan Palace was opened in 1977, and it is one of the most
luxurious hotels in Rajasthan. The palace known for exceptional
Chittar sandstone is now divided into the royal residence, the
Heritage Hotel and the museum.
Jaswant Thada
The white marble memorial was built in 1899 in memory of Maharaja
Jaswant Singh II. A cluster of royal cenotaphs Jaswant Thada, is a
architectural landmark of Jodhpur. Inside the cenotaph, there are also
two more tombs, with the portraits of various Jodhpur rulers.

Mehrangarh Fort (Majestic Fort)
One of the largest forts in India, the fort is located at the city
centre. This magnificent fort spreads over 5 Kms at the top of a 125
metre high hill. The fort houses some of the most beautiful and
historic palaces in Rajasthan. Noted among these are the Moti Mahal
(Pearl Palace), Phool Mahal (Flower Palace), Sheesh Mahal (Mirror
Palace), Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana. The fort has four gates and it
also houses a museum. The museum has a good collection of palanquins,
howdahs, royal cradles, miniatures, musical instruments, costumes and
furniture etc.

Osiyan Temple
The village is located at a distance of 58 Kms from Jodhpur on the
diversion of the main Jodhpur-Bikaner Highway. This ancient township
houses 15 beautifully sculptured Jain and Brahman temples. The most
attracting ones are the Sun Temple, Kali temple, Sachiya Mata Temple
and the Jain temple.
Balsamand Lake and Gardens
The beautiful lake built in 1159, lies 5 Kms away from Jodhpur. A
Summer Palace stands by the side of lake, which is surrounded by
beautiful gardens makes it an ideal picnic spot.
Mandore
Located at a distance of 8 Kms from Jodhpur, this is the ancient
capital of Marwar. It has the cenotaphs of the ancient Jodhpur rulers.
The beautiful gardens with high rock terraces make Mandore a famous
picnic spot.

Reaching Jodhpur
Jodhpur the second largest city of Rajasthan is easily reachable from
any part of the country. The city is well connected by Air, Rail and
Roads.
By
Air : Jodhpur Airport is connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta,
Jaipur and Udaipur etc.
By Rail : Jodhpur Railway Station is on the main
rail route, hence well connected to major cities of the country. The
trains are available from Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai and Kolkata.
By Bus : The city is connected by highways and good

Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation operates buses within
